Google has finally started rolling out a much awaited feature to its Maps and mobile search on Android. The new feature will allow users of Google Maps and search to ask questions about any places, businesses or locations listed on the services. These could vary from businesses such as restaurants, pubs to other public locations such as cities, countries, museums, etc. For now, the feature is only rolling out to Android users and there is no update on the inclusion of the new feature on iOS versions of the Google apps.
To ask questions, users will simply have to search for the particular place or location on Google Maps or Search and open the local business listing. Scrolling down on the listing will reveal a “Question & answers” section where users can post their queries, or answer questions posted by other users. Users can also upvote the best and most informative answers by tapping the thumbs up icon. Upvoted questions and answers will appear toward the top of the section so that the most helpful content is most accessible.

Google is constantly improving on its various apps and search features. The company recently announced that it is rolling out voice search in eight additional Indian languages. Besides Hindi, the new list of supported languages include Bengali, Gujarati, Kannada, Malayalam, Marathi, Tamil, Telugu and Urdu. The new feature will be available on Gboard for Android as well as in Search through the Google app on Android and iOS.
